TinyTan Tamagotchi

On March 8, 2022, Bandai announced its latest line of Tamagotchi devices created in collaboration with BTS and the band’s TinyTAN characters. The toy company also released an accompanying video showcasing the pixelated versions of each member along with a number of dance games.

The gameplay will be similar to that of the original Tamagotchi games where players have to care for their handheld pets by feeding and playing with them.

BT21 Tamagotchi

On December 10, 2021, Bandai released their BT21 Tamagotchi game device in two different shell designs: Space Color (blue shell with yellow buttons) and Baby Style (yellow shell with blue buttons). Both designs featured the same content and are based on the Tamagotchi Nano platform.

The game involves players (caretakers) raising their BT21 character from a baby to adulthood. They will be responsible for feeding them food and drinks such as milk, burgers, candy, and donuts. Caretakers will start the game by raising the character ‘Van’ who will eventually evolve into one of the seven BT21 characters. There are four mini games: dance, sweet making, space flight, and photo opportunity.

Playing games will increase the happy meter either by one or two points based on how well the game is played.

Initial Announcement

On May 20, 2021, Japanese toy manufacturer Bandai announced their collaboration with BTS for a new Tamagotchi game featuring their BT21 Line Friend characters. The game was scheduled to go on sale in the Fall of 2021 in Japan, Korea, and other territories.
