Dan Jang Hanbok Edition

On November 23, 2020, Mattel released the DAN JANG Hanbok Vivid Color Edition BTS Fashion Dolls inspired by the ‘S version’ concept photo of the group’s ‘Love Yourself: Answer.’

These limited edition dolls were made by Hanbok master craftsmen with more than 20 years of experience in creating Korean style and sophisticated Hanbok clothing that connects the tradition, modern times, and art.

BTS Mini Dolls

On October 22, 2020, Mattel announced their new set of ‘BTS mini dolls’ released on November 11, 2020. At three inches tall, each doll is posed to show off a bit of the personality of each member and is attached to a base that bares the name of the member its representing.

BTS also released a video starring an animated version of these dolls for their ‘House of BTS’ pop-up featuring them dancing to the band’s hit song, ‘Idol.’

Giant models of these dolls were put on display at the band’s pop-up so fans could get a better look at the figurines before taking one of them home.

UNO! Mobile

On June 22, 2020, Mattel unveiled the BTS take over of ‘UNO! Mobile’, the digital version of the classic card game.

This limited in-game event comes with themed collectibles such as card sleeves, avatars, voice packs, icon boarders, and game backgrounds available for players on iOS, Android, and the Facebook app.

Among the activities, there are competitive and cooperative in-game challenges with the chance to unlock rewards and collect tokens to use in the BTS-themed claw machine.

BTS Prestige Dolls

On November 5, 2019, Mattel released their ‘BTS Prestige Doll’ collection inspired after the band’s glam rock fashion in the ‘S version’ concept photos for their ‘Love Yourself: Answer’ album.

BTS UNO CARD GAME

In July 2019, Mattel released a special edition BTS UNO card game launching at the same time as their BTS fashion dolls. The special edition game kept its classic colors of red, yellow, green, and blue but will have exclusive images of each BTS member.

The game follows the standard rules of the card game but includes an extra rule card called ‘Dancing Wild’ that when played, the next player must perform their favorite BTS dance routine in front of everyone or draw three cards.

BTS Fashion Dolls

On March 26, 2019, Mattel unveiled their first collaboration collection with BTS launching their ‘Idol’ inspired fashion dolls via their official Twitter and Instagram channels sharing taglines for each doll.

RM: "Cuz' I was always just me..."
Jin: "Keep on chit-chatting..."
Suga: "I do what I do, so you do you..."
J-Hope: "I love myself..."
Jimin: “You can’t stop me lovin’ myself..."
V: "I'm facing a new me again today..."
Jungkook: "I love my fans..."

The BTS dolls were available for preorder globally on July 17, 2019 and released later that month.

Initial Announcement

On January 6, 2019, the collaboration between BTS and Mattel was revealed at the ‘Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair’ where it was announced that the toy manufacturing company would release fashion dolls made in BTS’ image. Mattel also stated that they planned to create a variety of other items including collectible figurines, toys, games, and roleplaying items. The first collaboration collection was released in July 2019.
